Somewhere, sometime, someplace... long ago... maybe a few months ago... I caught a smidgeon of an announcement about Microsoft's support of the Intellimouse Optical mice in OS X. The announcement went something to the effect of, 'Drivers for the Intellimouse/Explorer/Optical mice in OS X will be released at the beginning of next week.'
Well, I'm tired of waiting. It's been months, and only two buttons and my scroll wheel work (well, kinda) in OS X. Does anyone know the status of the driver situation for these mice in OS X?

Oct 05, 2015 Neither do other mouse buttons to which I've assigned a function. Does anyone know when will Intellipoint software be upgraded to be compatible with OS X 10.11. I've tried Apple but they don't support Microsoft products and I am using a Microsoft mouse with Intellipoint software. This happens when I am using Word for MAC or Office for Mac.
Microsoft IntelliMouse 3.0 with IntelliPoint 7.1 driver (I also tryed Intellipoint 8.0)
I have set two side buttons to do back/forward as in Windows Explorer/Internet explorer, etc.
The problem:
It works perfectly for some time, but then suddenly (after sleep/reboot/turn off) stops to do back forward and does “cycling through windows” instead of it (in Finder it can easily seen which hotkey is used because of flashing appropriate command in menu). After some days the issue disappears, then appears again.
I tried to reinstall MacOs, the driver, go resetting its settings – nothing has helped. I need your assistance.
Offtop: there is no any specific section for Mac-drivers for Microsoft hardware, so MSFT guys advised me to write here.
